Liberty Alone

Back from the US.
The wedding went ahead with no problems (apart from the chaos before hand and the mother-in-law, bridemaid and aunt deciding that we obviously didn’t want our bit of wedding cake and throwing it away for us…)

We had a short honeymoon in Orlando FL where I was ill (and gave the lurgie to Carrie it seems) and we swam with fish and dolphins and ate the best steak I’ve ever had.

There will be photos (we have them and the rights to them we just need to sort through them), but none of the fabled nun-pyramid…

Now I have to catch up with blogging and email (I go away and I’m innundated with uncaught spam it seems) and at some point something will drive me to blog properly again.

Off to the US today to get married.
So there’ll be a lack of blogging for a few weeks.

I’m sure I’ll come back to thousands of unread blog posts too.

Just in case you hadn’t noticed, tomorrow is the monthly Westminster Drinks.

Usual place, usual time.

Only unusual thing is that its my last (liberal) drinks as a bachelor…

It seems we picked the wrong day to arrive in Chicago…
The Brood XIII of cicadas is due to emerge the night of the 21st morning of the 22nd in Northern Illinois and Indiana.
With a bit of luck they won’t reach as far south as the wedding though.

There will be lots of them. Lots and lots of them.

They’re fascinating bugs. This species emerges from underground once every 17 years and each brood is on a different cycle. When they emerge there’s millions of them. That said, they’re still bugs, with big red eyes.

They’re also edible, I don’t think they’ll be on the menu at the reception though…
