Sometimes I really understand what motivates the sweat bloggers. When scum like some of these police officers and prison officials are given power by the state it seems the only response. That or the right to bear arms to defend yourself against the state.
Summary:
Richard Paey suffers from ME and is confined to a wheelchair. He needs large amounts of painkillers to even function. One day, the police, with a swat team, broke down his front door and stormed in and arrested him for drug trafficking (I suppose at least they didn’t shoot his dog).
The prosecution didn’t think they had a particularly strong case so they offered a plea bargain (common tactic in the US, one opposed by the real liberals), quite rightly this was refused. Eventually Paey was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the crime of needing pain killers.
Whilst in prison he was bullied by some officers, including a transfer to a high security gaol and being put in solitary confinement for giving an interview to the press. The transfer was made with a forged signature of a doctor.
Eventually, thanks to the high profile given to his case, he was given a pardon. This of course hasn’t stopped the government messing around with him. Social security doesn’t know what to do with a pardon.
