Internet censorship - Harry’s Place taken down
UCU activist shuts down Harry’s Place.
I’m not a reader of Harry’s Place, but it appears to have been shut down (there’s no DNS entry for the domain at present) after a complaint from a University and College Union activist from Sheffield complained to their web hosts about an article claiming that she linked to and appeared to endorse an article written by a neo-Nazi.
Not having seen the offending article I cannot comment, but if it was felt to be erroneous then why resort to such drastic measures?
I see Daily.co.uk are hiding behind ‘data protection’, a defense which is usually completely erroneous and an excuse to keep silent.
Add them to the list of ISPs not to use anyway…
I hope a similar response to the Tim Ireland/Craig Murray debacle will ensue, helping highlight the absurd laws in this country.
