Back from the US
True to form I managed to get ill on the first day of the holiday, but all in all it was a good, if brief visit.
I also saw a really great (American) football game - Bears vs. Broncos at Soldier’s Field, Chicago (on TV thankfully, it was far too cold to watch it in person). It was really tense, at one point the Bears looked like they were out of it, but thanks to two fantastic returns to a kick and a punt which resulted in 75yd+ touchdowns and some great extra-time play the Bears came away with a narrow victory. They still need to win the rest of their regular season games to get through to the playoffs but this should give them a much needed boost.
The Fighting Irish also won their last game of the season, which was absolutely dismal for them. They lost to the Navy for the first time in years and suffered two record defeats. At least they went out on a high though…
