Off traveling tomorrow

Tomorrow I fly to the US, a country where I know the people will be welcoming and friendly despite the crass anti-American sentiments all to prevalent here (government officials excepting, but our guys are just as bad, and worse in some cases).

Its Thanksgiving, a wonderful festival. A time for families to get together and celebrate everything which they’ve got to be thankful for. I feel privileged to be included in this, but as ever, they are welcoming. That’s a refreshing change from the UK where rudeness is disguised by ‘politeness’, where Americans are viewed as scum by so many people (often using the ‘many of my best friends are American’ line).

Yeah, I disagree with their government, but that’s fine, so do most Americans. At least they’ve been giving their bastard a good drubbing, we elected ours three times and now have his clunking fist.
I may not like McDonalds much (although its a useful standby) but that just means I don’t go there much. If other people like it then fine, they can go there. American culture is wonderful and diverse, we’ve got some of the best aspects over here, although we’ve managed to destroy things like Halloween.

When you feel the urge to make cheap shots at Americans, just replace ‘American’ with ‘Jew’ or ‘black’, it doesn’t sound so good does it?
