I wasn’t expecting that…
I’m sure everyone knows that Ming has resigned.
I supported him in the leadership election and I thought he’d stay for a while longer.
I have had some reservations about him - his performance has been a little erratic, he’s been trying to keep everyone totally happy (and made many people unhappy) on many issues. My biggest worry was his apparent closeness to Labour, especially Gordon Brown.
Going forwards - I hope to have a leader who will talk about liberalism, not simply liberal democracy (all the parties believe in that, to some extent) and who will make it clear we want power so we can give it back to individuals (not just communities).
I have initial preferences from the obvious candidates, but I’m not decided (I’ll wait to see what they have to say). I am however glad that Simon Hughes isn’t standing, I maintain he’d be a disaster as leader.
I would like to echo a lot of people’s disquiet about the speed of the campaign, its far too short to get any real campaigning done.
At least we’ll have something to talk about at Liberal Drinks tomorrow…

My credit score was not good enough to qualify for this credit card offer. Are you going to apply for credit card at the moment? Find out your score first and apply correspondingly at
