Sport this weekend

I’m not much of a sports fan, I enjoy my cricket (when England aren’t being slaughtered) and my rugby union (that league stuff just isn’t the same), but this weekend sees 2 days of sport I’d like to watch.

So this weekend sees the start of the Six Nations. I’m hoping (but not holding my breath) for England to actually do reasonably well, at least winning the Calcutta Cup to start off their campaign and finishing in the top half of the table…
Ireland may be the ones to watch, they finished off last year with some good performances, hopefully that will transfer to the Six Nations.
Italy will have advanced since last year I hope, I look forward to them becoming a truly first class side.
I also hope for France getting the wooden spoon, but unless there’s a disaster I can’t see that happening.

Also, Sunday night gives us the Superbowl, with the Chicago Bears taking on the Indiana Colts, the Bears being the closest team to Carrie and the Colts being her home state’s team so there’s particular interest there. A random fact is that this is the first Superbowl with a black coach and its both coaches who are black.
The Bears have been playing well, with some very good wins. The Colts made the largest second half comeback in NFL history to defeat the New England Patriots in the AFC final so they cannot be discounted.
Hopefully it’ll be a good game and worth sitting up for…
